Shed Pads & Small Structure Foundations
A proper gravel pad protects your new shed from rot and settling, keeps doors aligned, and makes delivery day painless. GWM Earthworks prepares manufacturer‑aligned shed bases with geotextile fabric, compacted 3/4" crushed stone, and laser‑level accuracy—typically sized 1–2 ft larger on all sides for stability and splash control.

Shed Pad FAQs
How big should my pad be?
We recommend at least 1 ft of stone beyond the shed on all sides—2 ft is ideal for access, splash control, and stability.
Gravel vs. concrete vs. blocks—what’s best?
For most sheds, a compacted gravel pad provides excellent drainage and stability without the cost and curing time of concrete. Blocks often settle unevenly.
Do I need edging?
Optional, but edging contains stone, looks tidy, and helps define the area.
How long does installation take?
Most pads install in a single day, depending on size, access, and excavation depth.
Do I need a permit?
Shed permit rules vary by town and size. We’ll point you to the local requirements if needed.
